Are interior white doors still a good choice these days?

Hi all, I'm updating my home and debating door colors. White seems classic and safe, but I'm wondering if it's too dated in 2025–2026. Does white still work well with modern interiors, or are most people switching to grays, blacks, or wood tones? Also, how do white doors hold up over time regarding yellowing or marks?

White interior doors remain super popular, especially in homes with lots of natural light or minimalist vibes they keep everything feeling airy and spacious. In my experience, with a good semi-gloss or satin paint finish, they resist yellowing much better than older flat paints, and everyday smudges wipe off easily. We painted ours white about three years ago and they still look crisp. The timeless look pairs nicely with almost any wall color too. If you're leaning toward white, it's hard to go wrong. You can find a solid range of interior white doors in different panel styles and sizes makes choosing straightforward. Darker colors add drama, but white is still the go-to for brightness and resale appeal in my opinion.
